Our Brains

LISTEN TO OUR BRAINS THEN EXPLORE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING PLAYFUL ACTIVITIES TOGETHER:

MAKING

Let's use our hands to explore!

  • We are going to use our touch sense to discover differences in objects. Gather together a variety of small items from around the house and outside. Put them in a bag one at a time (could be a shopping bag or backpack - any bag!) Take turns putting your hand in without looking and feel the object.

  • While it is still in the bag - tell the other what it feels like. Is it hard? Does it have sharp pointy edges? Or is it round and smooth? Can you squeeze it or is it hard? What do you think it could be? Have a guess!

  • Keep repeating this with all the objects you have gathered. What object did you like feeling the most?

MINDFUL

Let's use our brains to be creative!

  • Make a creation each from something in your house using your imagination! You may like to use lego or duplo or blocks You may like to use recycling or junk! You can choose to be a team and create together - or you may like to sit back to back and surprise each other with your creation when it’s finished.

  • Did you brains come up with something different? Or do your creations look the same?

  • Give your creation a name and take a photo to remember it!
