Writing Lesson Plan
Animal Dancer Writing Activity – Imagine, Describe, Create
Students use their imagination to become an animal dancer, then say, draw, and write simple sentences to describe their idea.
This creative activity builds oral language, early writing skills, and spelling through descriptive storytelling and the use of known, high-frequency words. -

Math Games
Pattern Choreography & Dance Dice – Maths in Motion
Students explore maths through movement by performing and creating repeating patterns (ABAB, AAB) using their bodies, then roll the Dance Dice to connect numbers with actions.
These high-energy activities build patterning, subitising, and one-to-one matching skills while reinforcing rhythm, coordination, and active learning. -

Reading Activities
Animal Dance Reading Activities – Read, Move, Create
Students build early reading skills through movement-based activities that connect words with actions. They decode and act out animal action cards, co-create and read a shared Animal Dance Big Book using repeated sentence structures, and design their own “dance recipes” by sequencing simple action sentences. Together, these activities strengthen decoding, comprehension, sequencing, and confidence—while celebrating creativity and joyful movement.
